Takadai Braids

The takadai is essentially a braiding loom. Think weaving turned on an oblique angle. So much fun to make and they have many contemporary uses! If you are a weaver you will recognize many of the structures: plain weave, 2/2 twill, rep weave, shadow weave...  Here are a few photos. More content coming soon!

I am looking for the rest of the pictures! The next step in the process is to throw the bobbin at the top left, through that shed, placing it at the bottom of the threads on the right.
