Blog Post 2 - August 14, 2020
It is good for the teacher to face the challenges of being a novice. I am continuing to learn about building a website. The most important lessons I have learned so far are:
Lesson 1: Write in Word to avoid grammatical errors. Then copy and paste into the editor.
Lesson 2: After I work on a page, check all the others in case I made an unintended global color change.
Lesson 3: When I am flummoxed, stop wasting time being embarrassed that you can't figure out xyz, reach out for help. (Stef, I can't figure out how to correct the date on the blog.)
My apologies to anyone who visited and had difficulty reading light green text on a light blue background.
I have decided that I will be using this website is a kind of virtual sketchbook. There will be a mix of information that is general, technical and personal. As an artist, I see art as a process, not a destination. I enjoy seeing other artists' processes and approaches to creativity and I will share some of my journey with you.
I have recently added photos and prep work from an installation that I created for my senior thesis show at MICA. Yes, that was long ago in 2004! It was an important piece for me both technically and personally. Please take a look at on the Portfolio tab. This week I will work on making a little tutorial on how I handle super long warps.
I continue to add content and links. Stay tuned!
